Albert's Family Farm
The family farm is a very open area with one house for Albert and his mother and father to live in. Joey and Zoey, the other farm working horse, live in a stable outside. The farm is also a wide open area as you can see in the picture. Albert's father bought the farm so that when Albert was older, he could have the farm for himself. Albert's mother explained to Albert on page 18 because Albert and his dad have not gotten along lately, so she wanted him to know that he still care for him.
BattlefiedsThere were many battlefields that Joey has been to in this book. There were no names of the battlefields, but the author really decided conditions of "no-man's-land." The fields were so so muddy and had barbed wire in every battle. Also it was very cold during winter when Joey and Topthorn were at war. As Joey explains on page 90," Each night we spent in the lines up to our hocks in freezing mud, in conditions far worse than the first winter of the war when Topthorn and I had been cavarlry horses."

Training Area/ Salisbury plainSalisbury Plain is a wide open field where the British troops train the horses and themselves for battle. There is literally no shade and the place is brutal when it sunny out. That was explained by Joey on page 37. That passage said,"I remember mostly the heat and the flies that day because there were hours of standing about in the sun waiting for something to happen." After doing some reserch, I've learned that Salisbury Plain is located in central England and is over 300 square miles.
